A village in northern India recently decided to change its name. Previously it was called “Shiv Nagar”, after the Hindu god Shiva. The new name the villagers chose: SnapDeal.com Nagar.

The company SnapDeal.com, which is a version of Groupon in India, had installed 15 water pumps for a total of $5,000 in the village. Before that, the villagers had to walk nearly 2 miles to get clean water. The locals were so grateful, they decided to rename their village SnapDeal.com Nagar.

The 28-year-old CEO of SnapDeal.com wants to commit to more social projects in the future and hopes his business to be an inspiration for others to do the same.
