Overview

Teach English In Nepal offers an excellent opportunity to give back in Nepal, even for those without any teaching experience. Your placement is at a semi-rural school outside Bhaktapur, near the capital city Kathmandu. The age ranges 7-13 years old, class sizes are approximately 20 students. Accommodation is family homestay and an opportunity to connect with local people.

Meet our representative waiting for you at the airport, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. In the evening enjoy a complimentary dinner, a chance to taste Nepalese cuisine, or taste one of a range of other dishes if you prefer.

Day 2 - Breakfast

Morning: Enjoy a walk with your city guide from the hotel to Durbar Square. Kathmandu Durbar Square is listed as a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site. It is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards and streets dating back to the 12th and 18th centuries.

Afternoon: Visit Pashupatinath, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu shrine, located on the banks of the Bagmati River and visit Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world. Compare and contrast the different religions, see how they overlap and exist in harmony.

Day 3 - Breakfast

Morning: Visit Patan Durbar Square with your city guide

Afternoon: Tour the monkey temple, Swayambhunath, situated on top of a hill offering superb views of Kathmandu.

Day 4 - Breakfast, Dinner

Kathmandu | Bhaktapur

Morning: Drive to Bhaktapur, en route visit Changunarayan, a forth century temple. Visiting Bhaktapur is like stepping into a piece of history, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that is literally a living museum where farmers dry their harvest, potters turn their wheels and people go about lives as they have done for hundreds of years.

Afternoon: Drive to Fulbright School where you will be teaching English. Meet the school’s principal and get to know your home and hosts for the next few weeks. Overnight with the principal’s family in their house.

Morning: Transfer to the airport for your 30 minute flight to Pokhara. Meet our representative at Pokhara airport and transfer to hotel.

Afternoon: Visit Gupteshor Mahadev Caves, Devi’s Falls and the Mountain Museum with your city guide. The rest of the day is free.
