The Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is a moderate hike north of Kathmandu, quieter than the other popular trekking spots of Everest and Annapurna. Perfect for experienced trekkers and return visitors to the Himalayas. Combining the remote and spectacular valley of Langtang with the high altitude mountain lakes at Gosainkunda.

Morning: Enjoy a walk with your city guide from the hotel to Durbar Square. Kathmandu Durbar Square is listed as a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site. It is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards and streets dating back to the 12th and 18th centuries.

Afternoon: Visit Pashupatinath, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu shrine, located on the banks of the Bagmati River and visit Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world. Compare and contrast the different religions, see how they overlap and exist in harmony.

Morning & Afternoon: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1610m) about 7 hrs.

Morning & Afternoon: Follow the Langtang river to the head of the valley. Cross a suspension bridge where the trail ascends to Lama Hotel (2480 m).

Day 5 - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Lama Hotel | Langtang Village

Morning: Gradually climb up to Ghora Tabela through a forest with spectacular, fleeting glimpses of Mt. Langtang Lirung. Keep following the Langtang rive climbing steadily up to Langtang Village (3541 m).

Afternoon: Walk up to Kyanjin Gompa and return to Langtang Village.

Day 6 - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Langtang Village | Chorkari Ri | Kyangjn Gompa

Morning: An early start at 5:30 am. Your route climbs gradually to Yamphu (3640m), crosses the Laja river then climbs to a moraine where you can have a dramtic view of Kyanjin Gompa and the icefall from Langtang Lirung.

Afternoon: Climb to the top of Chorkari ri (5050m). Enjoy spectacular panoramic mountain views of the entire Langtang Himalayas.

Morning & Afternoon: Walk down to Lama hotel (2480m).

Morning & Afternoon: Your route descends to Paira Lodge, then the trail ascends through the forest after crossing the river to Thulo Syabru (2200m).

Morning & Afternoon: Pass some schools and gompas then your route ascends through forest to Dursagang (2660m) and Sing Gompa (3580m), popular for yak cheese and it’s Buddhist monastery.

Day 10 - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sing Gompa | Gosaikunda

Morning & Afternoon: Climb gradually to Lauirbina Yak (3920m) where you can see panoramic mountain views of the Nepalese and Tibetan Himalayas. Continue your walk up to reach Gosaikunda (4381m).

Morning & Afternoon: Pick up the trail north of Gosaikunda Lake and pass three more small lakes, then cross over the Laurebina Pass (4610m) . Afterwards descend to Phedi then Ghopte (3420m)

Morning & Afternoon: Your route ascends to Tharepati,  then down through forest to Khutumsang (2450m).

Morning & Afternoon: Descends to the delightful hill village of Gul Bhanjyang then up a bit to Thodang Betini, carry on down to Pati Bhanjyang (1860m) and Chisopani (2110m).

Chisopani | Sundarijal | Kathmandu

Morning & Afternoon: Walk through forest to Borlang Bhanjyang (2440m) then down to Mulkharka (1800m) from where you can see a stunning view of the Kathmandu valley. Descend more to reach Sundarijal, a car will be waiting for you, drive to your Kathmandu hotel (30min). The rest of the day is free.
