One of our customers, who returned from a 3 month holiday to Nepal, Tibet and India arranged with us some months ago was so thrilled about her experiences she wanted to share them with readers of the popular Wanderlust Magazine. You can read her story here:

“Six weeks into my trip to Nepal (arranged with Himalayan Footsteps, Edinburgh), and after an intensive two week meditation in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery it was time to escape to the mountains!

Trekking in the Annapurna’s challenged my body, mind and soul as I pushed myself, witnessed the extremes of poverty, beauty, cold and the efforts of the people who live in this environment.  However, it also turned out that trekking would be another form of meditation for me – freed from my backpack by Bishal the first-time porter, and enjoying blissfully quiet tracks that I’d been warned would host a constant stream of tourists.

My guide and porter allowed me space and so it was just me, my boots, the clean air and an inner peace and calmness that came from merely putting one foot in front of the other.

By the time we were approaching Kagbeni, at the gateway into Upper Mustang, I felt I could walk forever.  I was also reminded that I was being looked after on my journey when a magnificent ‘eagle’ appeared in the sky above the ancient fortress town.  I could still be walking now but there  were other adventures awaiting me elsewhere in amazing Nepal.”

Some of the amazing photographs on our website have also been provided by Nicola from this tour. Thank you very much, we are happy you thoroughly enjoyed your travel!
