Lake Namtso

Lake Namtso
The name of Lake Namtso means ‘heavenly mother lake’ in Tibetan. It is a high mountain freshwater lake and freezes over up to 7 months per year. Nestled in the most beautiful landscapes it is surrounded by high mountains. On a clear day, the lake is as calm and clear as a mirror with its turquoise waters. On other days, red clouds form in the sky and reflect in the lake’s surface.
