Tiger Safari
Itinerary
Day 01
Arrive Delhi
Arrive at Delhi and meet our representative in the arrival lounge. Transfer to the hotel and rest of the day free.
Day 02 – B
Delhi
Take a tour of Old Delhi: You will see the Red Fort, which was created in 1648 by Emperor Shah Jahan who also built the Taj Mahal. Take a rickshaw ride through the busy and historical Chandni Chowk. This famous market of Old Delhi is a chaotic and amazing criss-crossing of lanes and by-lanes that seem to stock everything under the sun, from spices and ittars, to jewellery and dress materials. Visit the Jama Masjid, which is one of the largest and most elegant mosques in Asia, with its black and white striped domes and minarets. Continue with the tour and visit Raj Ghat (the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated) and Shanti Vana. You will then make your way through New Delhi and drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidents Palace and one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys) before visiting the India Gate: a memorial raised in honor of the Indian soldiers. You will also see Qutab Minar, the victory tower built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty.
Day 03 – B D
Delhi – Jabalpur – Kanha
In the morning fly to Jabalpur and upon arrival drive to Kanha National Park. On the way you will stop in the beautiful countryside. On arrival check-in at your hotel. Kanha National Park was created in 1955 and is one of the largest wildlife parks and one of the first Project Tiger reserves in India. Spread over 900 sq km, the park is a natural habitat of the Royal Bengal tiger, leopards, sloth bear, bison, gaur, sambhar, chital, jackal fox, porcupine, hyena, jungle cat, python, pea fowl, hare, monkey, mongoose and hundreds of different species of flora and fauna.
Day 04 – 06 – B L D
Kanha
You will have three full days for jungle activities as scheduled below:
Wake up call 5:15 am
Tea/Coffee cookies 5:30 am
Depart for safari by 6:15-6:30 am (with packed breakfast)
Return from safari 11-11:30am
Tea/coffee-cookies
Freshen up – relax or take a nature walk, cycle, visit the village.
Lunch 1 pm
Depart for safari by 2:30-3 pm
Return from safari by 5:30-6 pm
Tea/coffee/snacks
Campfire 6:30 pm onwards
Dinner 7:30 pm
Retire for the night usually by 9:30- 10 pm
Timings can change a bit depending on Park opening closing times for winter and summer.
Day 07 – B L D
Kanha – Bandhavgarh
Start the day with a morning safari across Kanha and then drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. Though Bandhavgarh is one of the smaller national parks, it has one of the highest population densities of Royal Bengal Tigers. Once home to the white tiger, the park is now a teeming eco-zone populated by panthers, bison and various species of deer. Upon arrival at Bandhavgarh, check-in at the hotel and spend the night there.
Day 08 – 10 – B L D
Bandhavgarh
The next three days are for jungle activities.
Wake up call 5:15 am
Tea/Coffee cookies 5:30 am
Depart for safari by 6:15-6:30 am (with packed breakfast)
Return from safari 9:30-10 am
Tea/coffee-cookies
Freshen up – relax or take a nature walk, cycle, visit the village.
Lunch 1 pm
Depart for safari by 2:30- 3 pm
Return from safari by 5:30- 6 pm
Tea/coffee/snacks
Campfire 6:30 pm onwards
Dinner 7:30 pm
Retire for the night usually by 9:30- 10 pm
Day 11 – B
Bandhavgarh – Khajuraho
Today you will drive to Khajuraho and upon arrival check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon take a city tour of the Khajuraho temples. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Khajuraho is one of the top tourist destinations in India. This small temple town is home to one of the largest groups of Hindu and Jain temples constructed in the medieval age, famous for the erotic sculptures carved on the outer temple walls.
Day 12 – B
Khajuraho – Delhi
After breakfast, take another short tour of Khajuraho city visiting more temples. Later transfer to airport to catch your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi transfer to the hotel.
Day 13 – B
Depart Delhi
Drive to the airport, your guide will help you and bid you farewell.
