Itinerary
Day 01
Arrive Delhi
Arrive at Delhi and meet our representative in the arrival lounge. Transfer to the hotel and rest of the day free.
Day 02 – B
Delhi | Agra
In the morning take a tour of Old Delhi: You will see the Red Fort, which was created in 1648 by Emperor Shah Jahan who also built the Taj Mahal. Take a rickshaw ride through the busy and historical Chandni Chowk. This famous market of Old Delhi is a chaotic and amazing criss-crossing of lanes and by-lanes that seem to stock everything under the sun, from spices and ittars, to jewellery and dress materials. Visit the Jama Masjid, which is one of the largest and most elegant mosques in Asia, with its black and white striped domes and minarets.
Continue with the tour and visit Raj Ghat (the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated) and Shanti Vana. You will then make your way through New Delhi and drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidents Palace and one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys) before visiting the India Gate: a memorial raised in honor of the Indian soldiers. You will also see Qutab Minar, the victory tower built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty. Around 3 pm proceed to Agra by car. Arrive and check into hotel in Agra.
Day 03 – B
Agra | Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
Get up early in the morning to visit Taj Mahal glowing in the soft, mysterious light during sunrise. Taj Mahal is a white marble Tomb, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men worked for more than 17 years to build this memorial of everlasting love. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast check out of the hotel and make your way to visit Agra fort, which has the lavishness and majesty of an imperial palace.
After lunch drive to Jaipur. On the way you will stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri, the old and deserted town of the Mughal Dynasty. Upon arrival to Jaipur check into your hotel.
Day 04 – B
Jaipur
In the morning you will visit the Amber Fort, the most beautiful example of Rajasthani forts. Feel like a Royal when ascending to the fort on elephant back! It is set in picturesque and rugged hills and consists of a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Enjoy the marvellous view of the city down below. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1952 and completed by Sawai Jai Singh I the fort is built from red sandstone and white marble. The forbidding exterior hides an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture.
Continue your tour of Jaipur with a visit to the City Palace, which forms one of the most famous tourist attractions and a major landmark in Jaipur. Jantar Mantar is the largest stone observatory in the world and contains a remarkable collection of architectural astronomical instruments. It was built between 1727 to 1733 by Maharaja Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur. The Palace of Winds, or Hawa Mahal, offers a beautiful sight. The splendid Rajputana architecture still speaks the glory of the royal family and blends perfectly with glimpses of Mughal architecture, making it stand out from other Rajputana architecture. The palace was built in 1799 for the royal ladies, so they could watch the royal processions without being seen.
Also visit the Central Museum with its huge collection of jewellery and colourful costumes. In the afternoon you will be free to explore colourful, bustling bazaars of the Pink City. Jaipur is world famous for its textiles and jewellery. Return to the hotel for night stay.
Day 05 – B
Jaipur | Bikaner
Today you will drive to Bikaner through spectacular countryside. Upon arrival at Bikaner check-in at your hotel. Bikaner is a 500-year old town that seems to have stood still in time. The rulers have built beautiful forts that echo of opulence and images of monsoon clouds in this dry land. The wealth of its architectural heritage lies in its forts, palaces and temples – magnificent creations in red and yellow sandstone. In the afternoon take a guided tour of Bikaner. The Junagarh Fort has a 986m long wall with 37 bastions, a moat and two entrances. Its most unusual feature, however, is that it was built at ground level instead of elevated. The fort and its palaces are elaborately defined with magnificent stone carvings. Lalgarh Palace was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh in memory of his father and with its overhanging balconies and delicate latticework a grand sight. Within the Palace you will also find the museum, which will evoke the time of Maharajas in your mind. Later go to visit the Camel Breeding Farm.
Day 06 – B L D
Bikaner | Dhingsari village
In the morning you will drive to the village of Munjasar via Deshnoke, Jegla and Janglu. At Deshnoke you will have the possibility to visit the Karni Mata Temple (of Rats). Day 11 – B
Jaisalmer
After breakfast go for sightseeing of Jaisalmer. The fort of Jaisalmer crowns the 80m high Trikuta hill. About a quarter of the old town’s population resides within the fort walls. The intricately carved trellises, doorways, wall niches, steps and staircases are a testimony to the expertise of the stone carvers of the region. From the fort walls you can have a very fine view of the old city and surrounding areas. As you move out of the fort, a short walk takes you to the narrow lanes dotted with a number of beautiful havelis (mansions) built by wealthy merchants of Jaisalmer that you will have the possibility to visit. Visit the Jain Temples, a complex of seven beautiful temples from the 12th to 16th centuries. Gadisar Tank, just outside the city walls, features many small temples and shrines around it. The afternoon is at leisure so you can further explore Jaisalmer on your own.
Day 12 – B
Jaisalmer | Jodhpur
Breakfast at Hotel and then drive to Jodhpur where you will check into your hotel. Visit Meherangarh Fort, which is considered the most impressive fort in Rajasthan and one of the largest in India. It is sprawled atop a perpendicular hill, 5km above the main city, and provides a spectacular view of the old 10 km long city wall. The new city has rapidly grown around this fort. Jaswant Thada is an architectural landmark found in Jodhpur. It is a white marble memorial, built in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The whole monument is built from intricately carved sheets of marble. These sheets are extremely thin and polished, so that they emit a warm glow when the sunrays dance across their surface.
Day 13 – B
Jodhpur |Ranakpur | Udaipur
After breakfast drive to Udaipur. En-route you will visit the Jain temples at Ranakpur, superbly preserved in a near-perfect condition for over 500 years. Later arrive at Udaipur and check into your hotel. There is no place in Rajasthan, which appeals more to the imagination of poets and painters, travellers and writers than Udaipur: an oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan. It is one of the most romantic cities in Rajasthan and also known as the city of lakes. The marble palaces, beautifully laid out gardens and the lakes make Udaipur seem like a mirage in the desert. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 14 – B
Udaipur
Full day city tour of Udaipur. You will visit the City Palace, poised over Lake Pichola, iridescent with tile and mirror inlay. You will also explore the town by walking through the narrow, colourful winding lanes.
