Nyalam | Saga
After breakfast you will start your journey to Saga. On the way you will stop at Lhaste. This place is of special interest for archaeologists. You can spot many ruins of dzongs and the small Changmoche Monastery at the edge of the town.  Heading away from Lhaste the road follows a route that brushes past Brahmaputra River. Further ahead a river valley sprawls over and then traditional picturesque villages come into picture. This scenically rewarding drive provides plenty of opportunities for grand photography. Later the trail winds towards north and reaches Saga. You will stay overnight in a camp at 4,050m altitude.

Day 04 – B L D
Saga | Paryang
Today you will have an early morning breakfast and then head off towards Parayang. The road to there weaves its way through the small, dusty town of Zhongba amidst enchanting panoramic views. Stay overnight at the camp and get excited about the upcoming trip to Mount Kailash.

Day 05 – B L D
Paryang | Manasarovar
In the early morning you will start your drive to Mansarovar. The route penetrates the very essence of Mansarovar Lake amid extraordinary landscape. As you draw nearer to this breathtaking sacred lake the historic Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the Northwest shore of the lake. From this vantage point you can even catch a first glimpse of the majestic Mount Kailash. Overnight at Camp

Day 06 – B L D
Manasarovar
Today is a free day for small excursions and acclimatization. Explore the area of the beautiful lake. Its sapphire-blue waters are surrounded by a white, sandy shoreline before a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in Tibet and a very friendly and welcoming landscape. Overnight at Camp.

Day 07 – B L D
Manasarovar | Darchen
In the morning you will have some more time to explore Lake Mansarovar. Then drive along the jeep trail to the start of the Kora at Tarboche. It is marked by a tall flagpole adorned with thousands of multi-coloured prayer flags and kata scarves strung out in radiating lines from the pole. You will stay at a guesthouse or camp overnight here before starting your 53km Kailash Kora.

Day 08 – B L D
Darchen | Driraphuk
Today the first day of trekking starts. Early in the morning you will meet your team of yaks and Tibetan yak drivers, who will escort you on the Kora. A short way from Tarboche you will walk past verdant meadows and picturesque streams to Lha Chu Valley. The trail overlooks a turquoise river cascading over a narrow canyon with high, steep cliffs. Slowly the north face of Kailash comes into vision. The trail will approach the 13th century monastery of Driraphuk. Visiting this monastery will be a very special gift on your Mount Kailash tour and a very insightful experience. You will conclude the trek of the day by camping at Driraphuk.

Day 09 – B L D
Driraphuk | Zutrulphuk
Today you will leave Lha Chu Valley behind you, and it blurs as you turn towards Drolma Chu Valley. From there you will ascend to Drolma La, at 5,630m the highest point of the trek. Colourful prayer flags are flapping at the summit. You will realize the tough and challenging ascent has been worthwhile when imbibing the breathtaking view of Thukpe Dzingbu Lake, also known as the Lake of Compassion, from the summit. Further on, the trail descends to the flat fields of Zutrulphuk, which houses a monastery and several fascinating caves. Latter are most popular for meditation: Milarepa’s cave is one of them and believed to have Milarepa’s footprints and elbow prints all over the mani stones. Camping at Zutrulphuk is an exciting, pleasant adventure.

Day 10 – B L D
Zutrulphuk | Darchen | Horfe
Leading away from Zutul-Puk the trail follows through the Bharkha plain leading to Darchen. Today is an easy walk along impressive gorges, lined with mani stones and mani walls, back to the Bharka plains and to dusty Darchen. Your kora is finished – you have erased your sins, endured cold nights and mornings, crossed one of the highest passes in the world, met countless fellow pilgrims, sent prayers of peace out to the world.
Shortly after arriving at Darchen you will board the waiting vehicle for the short drive to Horfe. Stay overnight at a camp.

Day 11 – B L D
Horfe | Paryang
Today you will have a long drive ahead, crossing Mayum-la and several rivers. The scenery along this road is some of the most beautiful of the entire journey. You might catch a sight of a distant storm drifting behind Tibetans, horses and sheep, a surreal sight. Arrive at Parayang and stay overnight at camp.

Day 12 – B L D
Paryang | Saga
Continue driving towards Saga, passing through Zhongba and a few smaller passes. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 13 – B L D
Saga | Nyalam
Today you will cross Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra River) by ferry and then continue driving to Nyalam. Soon after leaving Saga the road opens into a wide, flat plain and passes a huge, turquoise lake, the Peiku-Tso, from where you get a spectacular view of Shishapangma (8,027m). Drive on across Lalung la (5,200m) through a perfect blend of breathtaking views, alpine meadow trails, picturesce hamlets and an abundance of wildflowers, before reaching Nyalam.

Day 14 – None
Nyalam | Kathmandu
From Nyalam drive down to the border town Zhangmu. From here it is a short drive to the Friendship Bridge, which spans the Bhote Kosi River and marks the Chinese-Nepalese border.
