Itinerary

Day 1
Depart UK

Day 2 – D
Arrive Kathmandu
Meet our representative at the airport and transfer to hotel. Meet your Enfield team and have a trip briefing. In the evening enjoy a Nepalese welcome dinner with cultural programme at a traditional Nepalese restaurant.

Day 3 – B L
Kathmandu
Today you will go on a full day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu on your Enfield.

At first you will ride to Swayambhunath, situated on the top of a hill west of Kathmandu. The temple is colloquially known as the ‘monkey temple’ because of the large tribe of roving monkeys who guard it.

Then you will visit Patan’s Durbar Square, which contains some of the finest Newari urban architecture in all of Nepal, as well as Hindu and Buddhist monuments. Enjoy lunch at the Patan Museum Cafe.

In the afternoon visit Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world. Around here you will experience vibrant and unfettered Tibetan culture from the large community of Tibetan exiles.

A short drive away, you will find Pashupatinath, one of the most important Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world. It draws wandering Sadhus from all over India.

Today’s tour is an ideal experience to compare and contrast the different faiths but also see how they overlap and exist in harmony.

Day 4 – B L
Kathmandu | Bandipur
Today you will ride to Bandipur, along the Kathmandu – Pokhara Highway. Stop for a local lunch in one of the many towns. In the afternoon you leave the Trisuli river and join the Marshyangdi river valley and, if the weather is clear, you can see the Annapurnas for the first time shortly afterwards. Your final 12km are on a tiny little mountain road up to the hamlet of Bandipur, an old Newar trading town with magnificent mountain views in clear weather.

Bandipur is a national treasure and the town is a living museum of Newari culture. People here seem to live centuries apart from the rest of the country and more than 70% of the buildings are traditional Newari houses, with carved wooden windows and overhanging slate roofs. It’s hard to believe that somewhere so delightful has managed to escape the ravages of tourist development.

Day 5 – B L D
Bandipur | Tatopani
Today you will have approximately 5-6 hrs drive to Tatopani. This place is famous for its hot springs and the best place to relax your body after a long days ride. Stay overnight in a tea house lodge.

Day 6 – B L D
Tatopani | Jomsom
Start in the morning for approximately 5 hours drive to Jomsom.

Jomsom is the principal town of Mustang district and lies on the Annapurna Circuit. The place possesses an airfield, which is approached from Pokhara and therefore Jomsom is often used as the start or completion of a trekking holiday. Nearby is the famous pilgrimage site Muktinath. A few kilometres south lie the best-known areas for cultivation of apples and apricots in Nepal: Marpha and Tukuche.

Day 7 – B L D
Jomsom | Muktinath | Jomsom
Today will only be 3 to 4 hours drive on your daytrip to Muktinath.

Named after the highly referred Muktinath shrine, the valley is one of the most important religious place in Nepal for both Hindus and Buddhist. Hindus call it Mukti chhetra (Place of salvation). Muktinath is one of the four religious sites of Hindus and is also one of the 51 Sakti peetams.

The holy shrine is in a grove of trees and includes a Buddhist Gompa and the pagoda style temple of Vishnu Mandir.

Day 8 – B L
Jomsom | Pokhara
Drive approximately 7 hours to Pokhara.

Pokhara lies within a beautiful valley and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful places in the whole world.

Day 9 – B
Pokhara
Today is free for leisure. Either relax by the lake or fill your free time with boating, cycling, massages, horse riding, yoga, swimming, paragliding and a visit to one of the many restaurants to name a few.

Day 10 – B L
Pokhara | Kathmandu
Head off in the morning to drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 11 – B D
Kathmandu
Today is free for leisure activities. Enjoy a traditional farewell dinner with cultural programme in the evening.

Day 12 – B
Depart Nepal | Arrive UK
Enjoy a final breakfast, tell one final round of tales about the trip, then you will be transferred to the airport, where your guide will bid you farewell and look forward to your paths crossing again.
