Lhasa, which means Land of the Gods, is the heart of Tibet and one of the most featured and dreamt about cities in the world. Over 1,300 years old, it sits in a valley right alongside the River Lhasa.

Itinerary

Day 01
Kathmandu | Lhasa
Fly from Kathmandu (1,300m) to Lhasa (3,650m) on one of the world’s most stunning flights over the highest mountain range in the world. Meet our representative at the airport and transfer to hotel approx. 2hr drive. Rest of the day is free.


Day 02 – B
Lhasa
Plunge into this amazing city: Visit the Sera monastery, one of the best preserved monasteries in Tibet. After lunch take a look at Norbulingka Park, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Then you will see the Jokhang Temple, an unrivalled Tibetan experience: Assimilate the smell of Yak butter and the murmur of mantras. The temple is surrounded by the Barkhor market, where you will stroll through the busy lanes that seem to have resisted all invasions of the modern world.


Day 03 – B
Lhasa
Today you will visit the spectacular Potala Palace. It is the most striking landmark in Lhasa and an architectural wonder. You will remember the sight of this fort-like palace for the rest of your life. The palace contains the private quarters of the Dalai Lama and numerous staterooms. After lunch, visit the Drepung Monastery, once one of the largest in the world with 10,000 monks.


Day 04 – B
Lhasa|Kathmandu
Drive to the airport, your guide will help you and bid you farewell.

International Flights
If you wish us to book your international flights, we are able to quote you a price and move ahead if you are happy. We’d also like to inform you that we are finding our flight prices not as competitive as they used to be and that cheaper fares can be found more readily with online companies or with a specialist high-street flight agents. It is absolutely fine to book your own flights if that means a better deal for you, all we need is to take a note of your flight details to organise our representative to meet you at the airport on arrival at your destination.

We strongly recommend that you book tickets from an ATOL holder, you can check by looking for the ATOL logo in advertisements, brochures and websites.

Domestic Travel
All domestic travel arrangements are included in your trip; such things can include bus journeys, domestic flights, and airport transfers.

Arrival
You will be met at the airport by our representative who will arrange transportation to the hotel and help you get checked in.
