Childrens Home
Volunteering at a children’s home is an especially rewarding experience. Brightening the day of these children, who have no families they could turn to, and giving your friendship to them is the best way you could spend your time.
At Himalayan Footsteps, we work closely with Rainbow Children’s Home in Pokhara. This Children’s home is dedicated to providing the orphaned, poor and marginalized children of Nepal with nutritious food, clean water, quality education and most importantly a loving, secure family and home. 32 children have currently found a new family in this orphanage. You can read regular updates about the RCH in our News section.
We organize short and longer volunteering stays at Rainbow Children’s Home. Accommodation is in an en-suite room in the children’s home. Daily tasks include taking children to school, helping with their homework, interacting with the children, helping with current projects in the home. The RCH also runs a handicraft project for disadvantaged women, in which our volunteers are welcome to help and bring in expertise in design and marketing.
