The word “Yoga” is Sanskrit and means “union” – it describes the union between mind, body and spirit. Historically this was a whole lifestyle. What is referred to as yoga today is in Sanskrit described by “asana”, which is the practice of physical postures and only one of the eight limbs of yoga. Are you a “poser” looking for your perfect holiday experience? You’ll find it right here!

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” (B K S Iyengar, founder of Iyengar Yoga)

Going on a yoga retreat will give you the unique opportunity to get an intensive course on these practices in the surroundings of the culture in which they emerged. You will experience the Himalayas from a completely different angle than other travellers and get a deeper understanding in the culture and also yourself.

Many Yoga retreats include luxurious spas, so before and after your yoga lessons you will be pampered, can thoroughly relax and forget about all stress. Enjoy the healthy, local food, serene surroundings and a new approach to bringing balance to your life – you will come back a changed person.
