Sukla Phanta Holidays
At the far western end of Nepal’s Terai, bordering India, you can find Sukla Phanta wildlife reserve. Along the banks of Bahini river, this reserve covers sal forests and grasslands. On similar terrain as in Bardia National Park, the reserve is home to tigers, rhinos, crocodiles, wild elephants and a large population of swamp deer.
Only few visitors make the long way to Sukla Phanta, so it is a destination for anyone seeking true wilderness and solitude. There are no lodges in the park. The best time to visit is November to January. During monsoon season parts of the park are flooded and the main track is impassable.
