Tripura Holidays
Tripura lies in North East India. It is home to fascinating royal palaces and temples that are quite undiscovered by Western tourists. For centuries, Tripura was a Hindu kingdom, ruled by their royal family.
The state is densly populated, the majority of inhabitants are Bengali, but there also is a large number of tribal communities. The capital city Agartala is home to a colourful mix of cultures.
There are different popular festivals, for all, tribal and non-tribal people as well as visitors. Take a holy dip in the source of the river Gomti at Paus-Sankrankti Mela.
Ker Puja is a blessing festival that is performed every year for the welfare of the state and its people. The tribes of Tripura have vibrant cultures and cherish dance and song. They are displayed with pride at the different festivals.
