The tribal state of Chhattisgarh split from Madhya Pradesh in 2000. Nearly half of the state is covered in the densest forests of India, and Chhattisgarh is one of the richest biodiversity habitats.

In Chhattisgarh, you can find vibrant tribal cultures, about one third of the population belong to a tribal community. To explore this heritage, you will have to venture into the forests in the North and South of the state. The unique tribal cultures of Bastar are known all over the world. Bastar Dussehra is the traditional major celebration of these cultures and not to be missed.
