In 2007 if you wanted to book a holiday to the Himalayas in Edinburgh you wouldn’t have been able to find a local travel company who had much knowledge until Olly Margry founded Himalayan Footsteps.
He identified a customer’s need for authoritative, friendly, and local knowledge when planning a holiday to long-haul destinations in the Himalayas. Olly was also disconcerted with the way tourism was operated in these destinations and felt he could make improvements that delivered better experiences and better social benefits.
Himalayan Footsteps built up it’s reputation from a small high-street store in Edinburgh. Over time and after investment in an online presence it soon showed that a need for their services reached nationwide and on occasions from abroad.
Over the years this personable tour operator have attracted a loyal following of happy customers and fans who love what they do.
In 2012 the success of business online and the shift from a totally local customer base to a national customer base led to closing the high-street store where it all started and moving more services online.
Himalayan Footsteps continue to listen to their customers and develop exciting travel products to meet their needs.
